Terms of Service

1. Agreement

These Terms of Service form an agreement between you and Mudroom. By connecting Gmail or using the service, you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not connect an account or use the service.

2. The current service

Mudroom connects to Gmail, synchronizes limited metadata, classifies what to hold or surface, and lets you review and correct those decisions. Classification begins as a dry run. Gmail is not changed unless you take a separate action to activate filing for your account.

After activation, Mudroom may create or reuse theMudroom/Held label, apply it to HOLD decisions, and archive those messages by removing INBOX. Archived mail remains in All Mail and searchable. Mudroom never deletes, trashes, composes, or sends mail. The first acting run is capped and reports before scheduled processing continues. Mudroom may change, add, suspend, or remove features with updated terms or notice when required.

3. Your Gmail connection

Google's OAuth grant is the Mudroom sign-in. You authorize Mudroom to access Gmail only through the permission shown by Google. You may revoke that permission through Mudroom's Disconnect action or your Google Account at any time.

You are responsible for keeping your Google account secure and for using a Gmail account you are authorized to connect. Do not share or transfer a Mudroom session. Notify support promptly if you suspect unauthorized use.

4. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 and old enough to consent to these terms and the associated data processing in your jurisdiction. If you use Mudroom for an organization, you represent that you have authority to connect the account and bind that organization to these terms.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• connect an account you do not own or control;
• probe, disrupt, overload, or bypass service security;
• extract or misuse other users' information;
• use Mudroom to violate law, Google's terms, or third-party rights;
• reverse engineer the service except where the law permits it; or
• misrepresent Mudroom's classifications as guaranteed advice.

6. Classification is fallible

Mudroom's deterministic rules and model judgment can be wrong. The system is intentionally designed so uncertainty surfaces a message, but no classifier can guarantee that every important message will be identified. You remain responsible for your Gmail account, reviewing messages, and meeting deadlines or obligations communicated by email. Mudroom is not legal, financial, medical, security, or professional advice.

7. Data and privacy

The Privacy Policy describes the information Mudroom accesses, why it is used, its service providers, retention, and deletion. The Data Use & AI Safety page gives additional detail about Gmail permissions and prompt-injection defenses. You keep ownership of your content. You grant Mudroom only the limited rights needed to provide, secure, and maintain the service.

8. Third-party services

Mudroom depends on services such as Google, Neon, Vercel, and Anthropic. Their availability and actions are outside Mudroom's control and governed by their own terms. Mudroom is not responsible for changes to Gmail, Google's OAuth approval, or outages in third-party infrastructure.

9. Disconnecting and termination

You may stop using Mudroom at any time. Disconnecting attempts to revoke the Google grant and deletes the data tied to your Mudroom user from the primary database. Disconnecting does not itself return previously archived messages to Inbox; use the bulk restore first if you want that result. The bulk restore is designed to be safe to repeat. Mudroom may suspend access when reasonably necessary to protect users, the service, or legal compliance, or when these terms are materially violated.

10. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Mudroom is provided “as is” and “as available.” Mudroom disclaims implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, availability, accuracy, and error-free operation. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Mudroom and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or opportunities arising from the service. Mudroom's total liability for a claim relating to the service will not exceed the amount you paid Mudroom for the service during the 12 months before the claim. If you paid nothing, the cap is US $100. These limits do not apply where prohibited by law.

12. Changes

Mudroom may update these terms as the service changes. The updated terms will be posted here with a new effective date. Material changes will receive reasonable additional notice when required. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated terms; otherwise, disconnect and stop using the service.

13. General

These terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement about Mudroom's current service. If one provision is unenforceable, the rest remain effective. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign this agreement without Mudroom's consent; Mudroom may assign it as part of a reorganization or transfer of the service, subject to applicable privacy obligations.
